Hayden's Faves: Introduction

To build suspense for the coming TSDA road trip, I will be featuring a "Hayden's Faves" countdown periodically until our time of departure.

I took this pic of Hayden on his birthday.  We were at Jimmy John's.  He got beat up by his pledge brother in front of a cop and some fiesty latinos in front of Quick Grill on the way home.

Happy b-day big man!

The story behind these "faves" is that one day during an especially exhilarating lab, ole Teetot'lin and I decided to list out Hayden's top 5 favorite games.  And then his top 5 weaknesses, top five hobbies, etc, etc.  After it was all said and done, we had quite a list of faves assembled, and I would like to share this informational gold mine with you all on the TSDA blog.

This pic of Hayden was taken in his room on the 3rd floor of the EFN house.  Specifically, it illustrates him standing on his fridge in front of a wide open window.  What is he doing??

I'll give you a hint: he was about 12 deep, didn't have a cup, and was too lazy to walk down the hall.

Think of the "Hayden's Faves" countdown as a way of getting to know The Crew's least informative or productive member--Hayden, aka TPS, aka The Haydeebug--just a little bit better.  Check back for the first update soon!

Funny The Way It Is

Look at this little bundle of joy.
He looks really eager to pass an AP Chemistry test or go on an exciting adventurous roadtrip. I'll have to agree with the latter.

Road Rules

The trip will approximately be a 2500 mile round trip starting in Tuscaloosa. Ideally, we'd like to see as many states as possible during the trip and average 6-7 hours of driving when changing locations. Even though many decisions will not be made until we wake up in the morning, we definitely would like to visit Virginia, Washington D.C., and New York. We need to decide whether to head all the way up to the east coast, or venture to Chicago to round up the trip. This will likely be a game-time decision. We hope this blog will keep those interested about our whereabouts as well as regular updates from the trip. Our ultimate goal is to see/do as many things we have never done before and to finish college on a high note as we part ways in the fall. Hayden and I will be moving to Birmingham in August, and Russ will begin his first year as a med student in Mobile. The following are a few rules we intend to abide by as we progress through the trip.

Rule #1 - There are no rules.
Rule #2 - Take a picture at each welcome sign of each state
Rule #3 - Go to a concert
Rule #4 - Change plans as the day goes by
Rule #5 - See if Hayden can go a day without chapstick
Rule #6 - Russ' vote > Hayden's vote
Rule #7 - Water bottles
Rule #8 - Can't be afraid to mix it up
Rule #9 - Visit at least two college campuses
Rule #10 - Listen to Scatman once when beginning each day's adventures

Members' Positions

As it stands, it appears that Barrett will be the chief navigator in the black pathfinder.

Russ will be the co-pilot of the trip and will be director of logistics en route up the east coast. Since he is the smartest of the three, he is likely to make the most important of the decisions.

Hayden will likely sit in the backseat and play with his blackberry. He will create the livelihood of the trip.

The Crew

Spoke with a few friends who cross-countried in a shaggin' wagon out west and they said they thought the rocky mountains were a little less rockier than they anticipated. So we decided to go up the east coast.
